Nasya Therapy
Breathe Deep, Think Clear
Service Description
Nasya is one of the five main therapies of Ayurveda’s Panchakarma, designed to cleanse, nourish, and rejuvenate the head region. The word Nasya comes from “Nasa” (nose), the natural gateway to the brain, prana, and consciousness. In this therapy, specially prepared herbal oils, ghee, or medicated liquids are gently administered into the nostrils under the guidance of a trained therapist. The therapy begins with a mild head, face, and chest massage followed by gentle steam to open the channels. Then, a few drops of warm medicated oil are instilled into the nostrils while the guest relaxes on a therapy bed. This simple yet profound procedure clears accumulated toxins (ama), balances the doshas in the head, and restores clarity to the senses. From the Panch Tattva perspective, Nasya mainly harmonizes Air (Vayu) and Space (Akasha) elements, which when imbalanced lead to headaches, sinus issues, poor concentration, and mental restlessness. By restoring balance, Nasya helps the mind feel clear, focused, and calm. Benefits of Nasya Therapy: Relieves sinus congestion, allergies, and chronic colds Reduces headaches and migraine frequency Improves memory, focus, and concentration Enhances clarity of voice and sense organs (eyes, nose, ears) Promotes better sleep and reduces stress Supports hair health by nourishing the scalp Modern science supports that Nasya enhances oxygenation, clears the nasal passages, and improves nervous system function by stimulating olfactory nerves connected to the brain. Nasya is recommended for people suffering from: Sinusitis, rhinitis, and allergies Frequent headaches or migraines Stiffness in neck and shoulders Sleep disturbances Stress and poor concentration At Selfcare Wellness, we use authentic Ayurvedic oils like Anu Taila or Shadbindu Taila prepared with herbs for deep healing. Each session is carried out in a calm therapy room by trained Panchakarma therapists, ensuring safety and comfort. After the session, guests often feel lighter in the head, experience easier breathing, sharper senses, and an overall feeling of inner clarity. Duration: 15–20 minutes Recommended: As part of a daily routine, a correction or Panchakarma detox program.
